Vintage Christmas decorations
I’ll be at the last Clerkenwell Vintage fair of the year on Sunday and it’ll be an extra special one for Christmas.
I know it might still seem a little early but it will be here before we know it so come and stock up on some lovely vintage decorations for your tree which I’ll be selling and some unusual Christmas presents – some photos are posted of things I’ve made here.
You can then sit back and be smug that you’ve started your shopping! Hope to see you there x
White Chair
Not so white anymore
You may remember I posted a photo of the white chair a while back now. It was a great find and I’m really pleased with the progress I’ve made. I’ve got as far as putting the top cover on the back of the chair. I’m using a black herringbone fabric and using contrasting fabric for piping and buttons. I learnt how to use the button machine last night which was quite exciting! Simple things.
Can’t wait for it to be finished – my aim is before Christmas so I have 4 more lessons to get it done.
Treasure Trove in Bergen

Always on the look out for junk finds I thought I’d post some photos from my recent trip to Norway. We came across a great junk shop in Bergen. Unfortunately it was closed but I managed to take some snaps through the door and what a treasure trove I was missing out on!
Luckily I managed to find a flea market when we got to Oslo which had some interesting bits and pieces – but as with everything in that country – nothing comes cheap!

Lovely Scandinavian ceramics
Love these chairs
I love the scandinavian ceramics – they’re not that easy to come by in this country. Due to prohibitive prices and lack of space in my suitcase I didn’t purchase any of the lovely ceramics on display but it was great to just look. I did pick up some lovely scandinavian Christmas table cloths though which I’m very pleased with.
Everything is so beautifully displayed and designed and I wanted to be able to take it all back home!

I was selling my new clutch purses made with vintage fabrics and backed with leather with a leather handle at the Affordable vintage fair in London yesterday. I’ll be selling them these and more hand made goodies at the Clerkenwell Vintage Fair on 8th November. It’s the last one before Christmas so it’s a great way to kick start your Christmas shopping and to find something a little different.
Life is Suite Sofa
I came across this beautifully upholstered sofa in the Deptford Project Cafe on Deptford High street last week. It’s been upholstered using old tea cloths, linens and aprons trying to re-create the history of an abandoned piece of furniture. The company who have come up with this idea are called Life is Suite and will take commissions.
Affordable Vintage Fair
Following the success of the first Affordable Vintage fair in London back in April, I can’t wait for the second one this Sunday, 25th October. Still in East London but this time much nearer Old Street at the Sustainable Studios in Scrutton Street, EC2A 4PJ.
Press and VIP can get in from 11am and the public opening time is Midday. Get there early as there was a queue down the road at the last fair.
Nicolarius will be there selling a great selection of vintage clothes and accessories as well as homewares and handmade goodies. Christmas is coming up so it’s a good chance to grab some individual presents.
My sister and Jill will also be there selling Love our Stuff’s latest designs – I want one of their new thick, jersey jackets. Make sure you don’t miss your chance to buy individual pieces from their collection at a special fair price.

Vintage Birds
I’ve made some great vintage bird related finds today and am looking forward to having a special vintage bird display at the next vintage fair!
I love these glasses – they are so pretty and the design is so intricate and colourful. I don’t really want to sell them but I seriously have to stop hoarding so many things.

I’ll be selling these things plus many more pretty vintage bits and bobs at the next Affordable Vintage fair in East London on Sunday 25th October. As there were queues down the road for the last one I suggest getting there early to make sure you get first pick of all the lovely goodies.

And so today I did a vintage fair at Nottingham Trent University. I sold a few bits and bobs and hopefully got a few more people interested in what I’m doing but I do feel rather tired now. Not wanting to sound like an old granny but I can’t believe how bad the traffic has got. I remember driving regularly up to Nottingham about 14 years ago and never did I experience the traffic I have today – not a fun way to spend 5 hours of the day that’s for sure! And I have the joy of driving back to London tomorrow from my mum’s house in the Cotswolds. I think I’d like to hire a driver…just need to make a bit more money first….
Anyway, I think I’ll be sticking to the London fairs from now on but it was good to get a bit further north for the day. Well after all the excitement think I might have to go to sleep now. Night x

I’ve been working on these new purses/ make up bags over the last week and I’m really pleased with them. They’re made with vintage curtain fabrics and leather backed and they are lined with contrasting fabrics.
I’ll be selling them this weekend at the AFM Sunday Bazaar at the Horse and Groom on Curtain Road. It’s free to get in so come on down.
Fatina doll making workshop at 100% Design
Cute DIY Dinosaur
I came across a doll making workshop whilst at 100% design which proved to be very popular. The company behind the dolls are called Chocolate Rain. They produce a number of individual products but the focus was on the DIY Fatina doll packs where you could make your own doll and take it home.
As well as the dolls you could also make a panda or dinosaur – the cute dinosaur I made is pictured above.
